Abstract
A mass spectrometry method (laser ablation coupled to Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry [FT-ICR-MS]) for analyzing aluminosilicates is described. We show that both positive and negative ionization modes in FT-ICR-MS are promising as they provide insight concerning the composition, the origin and the stability of this large material family.
