Abstract
In the current contribution an analytical description is presented of the characteristic β-fibre texture of cold-rolled face-centred-cubic metals with medium and high stacking fault energies. The model texture derived from the analytical equation is compared with the deformation textures of two aluminium alloys and high purity copper cold-rolled to comparable reductions. The derived crystallographic representation accurately describes the rolling textures in materials of medium and high stacking fault energies.
