Abstract
Present study describes the rotation of orientations in a pre-deformed high-purity aluminum plate during further deformation on different rolling planes. For different rolling planes, grains rotate towards the β-fiber as predicted by the theoretical analysis. However, rotation towards the stable orientation is severely suppressed and the resultant spread of orientations is attributed to the spatial alignment of grain structure with respect to the deformation direction and the concurrent activation of double-slip and cross-slip on slip systems with the highest resolved shear stress.
