Abstract
Synchrotron X-ray diffraction was used to measure the textures in two heavily cold-drawn beta Ti alloys (i.e. beta III Ti alloy and Ti–15Mo alloy). Instead of the well-known <1 1 0>β texture, the <2 1 0>β texture was found in the cold-drawn condition along with a strong <11–22>ω texture. The cause of the <2 1 0> texture in the β phase is possibly related to the stress-induced omega phase transformation during the cold-drawing process.
