Abstract
An enhancement of ductility and a special Lüders-like deformation phenomenon with remarkable plastic instability and large stress plateau are found in a high-temperature annealed dual-phase (delta-ferrite and austenite) high-manganese steel. A martensite transformation induced by the localized strain concentration of delta-ferrite is proposed to explain this type of Lüders-like phenomenon.
