Abstract
BaTiO3-based ceramics with a multilayer core–shell structure were designed using BaTiO3–Bi(Mg1/2Ti1/2)O3 as the shell-II (outer layer) composition, and fabricated by two different approaches with a two-step sintering method. The samples produced by approach B (combined sol–gel coating with solid mixing methods) were found to possess optimized temperature stability of dielectric behavior in the temperature range of −55 to 150 °C (ΔC/C25°C < ±15%), together with a high dielectric constant and low dielectric loss, being on the order of 1500–1900 (1 kHz) and <1.5%, respectively, at room temperature, and make it promising for dielectric applications at elevated temperature.
