Abstract
The aim of this work was to investigate the interphase-precipitated nanometer-sized carbides in a Ti–Mo-bearing steel that formed during the isothermal transformation at a temperature in the ferrite/austenite phase field. Through the analyses of selection area electron diffraction patterns, moiré fringes in high-resolution transmission electron microscopic lattice images and high-angle annular dark-field scanning transmission electron microscopy, these ultra-fine, banded dispersive carbides have been identified as MC carbides with the NaCl-type crystal structure that contains high levels of Ti and Mo.
