Abstract
The strain-rate sensitivity of nearly basal plane textured Mg–3.0Al–1.0Zn alloy under impact deformation was investigated. The alloy shows obvious strain-rate sensitivity anisotropy. The absolute value of the strain-rate sensitivity of the alloy is related to the degree of the spreading of the basal plane texture.
