Abstract
Crystallographic orientations of ferrite and cementite in a pearlite structure were analyzed by electron backscatter diffraction. It was found that the orientations of both phases in a pearlite colony rotated simultaneously, while maintaining a specific crystallographic relationship. The internal stress in the colony was estimated under the assumption that the orientation rotation was caused by elastic strain.
