Abstract
1.0 at.% B-doped Fe83Ga17 sheets 0.05 mm thick were successfully prepared. A sheet with “cube texture” of {0 0 1}〈1 0 0〉 was obtained in the rolled sheets. The temperature and deformation rate in the rolling process and the final annealing atmosphere were all controlled precisely. A large magnetostrictive strain (λ‖λ‖) of up to 170 ppm was achieved in the 0.26 mm thick rolled sheets under 24 MPa compressive stress with an applied magnetic field along the rolling direction.
