Abstract
(1 − x)(0.95Na0.5K0.5NbO3–0.05LiSbO3)–xBiFeO3 solid-solution piezoelectric ceramics have been fabricated by conventional ceramic processing. A morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) between orthorhombic and tetragonal ferroelectric phases was identified around x = 0.004. The ceramics near the MPB exhibit good electrical properties (d33 = 260 pC/N−1, kp = 51.5%, Tc = 365 °C, ρ = 4.51 g cm−3 and tan θ = 2.00%). The results indicate that this ceramic is a promising lead-free piezoelectric material.
