Abstract
Individual stacking faults in high-alloyed metastable austenitic cast steel specimens have been imaged by electron channelling contrast imaging in a scanning electron microscope equipped with a field emission gun and a high beam current mode. In addition, well-developed deformation bands consisting of overlapping stacking faults as well as deformation-induced martensite were observed. The microstructural observations were completed by electron backscatter diffraction measurements and additional transmission electron microscopy investigations.
