Abstract
Variations in the Poisson’s ratios (ν) of a variety of metallic glasses and non-metallic glasses were investigated under high pressure and low temperature (270–100 K). It was found that there are direct correlations between Poisson’s ratio and its differential upon pressure or temperature. These correlations suggest a way to understand the microstructure of and plastic deformation in metallic glasses.
