Abstract
Magnetic Fe3O4 nanoparticles functionalized with carboxymethyl chitosan were prepared by means of the spraying co-precipitation method. The synthesis reaction is discussed in terms of a nucleus growth mechanism. The results presented in this report show that magnetic particles should prove suitable as nanomagnetic carriers of drugs, and demonstrated that the spraying co-precipitation process is a better production method for this kind of magnetic particle as it can be automated and requires fewer procedures.
