Abstract
Triple lines are created when a new phase is nucleated at an interface. Such heterogeneous nucleation is inevitably affected by the tension of the triple lines. Triple lines can also act as sites for nucleation. Experimental examples and analyses of nucleation involving triple lines are reviewed.
