Abstract
The roping phenomenon was investigated in a material that is known to be susceptible to its occurrence. The nature of the bands, particularly of {1 0 0} 〈〈0 0 1〉〉 Cube grains, was examined in the same material before and after stretching 18% along the transverse direction. It was found that, with stretching, pre-existing bands of {1 0 0} 〈〈0 0 1〉〉 Cube grains persisted, but were translocated relative to their positions in the unstretched material.
