Abstract
A novel modification of the multiphase equilibrium method was developed by selecting a molten oxide, SiO2-Na2O, as an unprecedented assisting liquid material to measure the surface tension of solid Cu. We found out that the oxide melt is available using the multiphase equilibrium method. The surface tension of Cu as measured in this work was 1661 mN mâ1 at 900 °C.
