Abstract
Magnetization and initial permeability measurements were done on the magnetic shape memory alloys Ni2Mn1.48-xFexSn0.52 (0 ⩽ x ⩽ 0.20). The Curie temperature TC in the austenite phase increases slightly with increasing x. Similarly, the Curie temperature T′C in the martensite phase increases with increasing x. The martensitic transition starting temperature Ms decreases steeply with increasing x. The paramagnetic state of the martensite phase collapses in the Fe-rich alloys.
