Abstract
The effect of alloying on phase transformation temperatures and occurrence of magnetoplasticity in Ni–Mn–Ga–Cu alloys is investigated. The applied alloying had a strong effect on the transition temperatures and crystal structure of martensite. A 4.1% magnetic field induced shear strain at 330 K is achieved in single crystalline Ni–Mn–Ga–Cu alloys.
