Abstract
A Ti-based bulk glassy alloy/hydroxyapatite composite was successfully prepared. The biocompatibility of bulk glassy alloy was expected to be improved by the addition of hydroxyapatite particles. The second-phase particles were uniformly distributed in the bulk glassy alloy matrix. The thermal stability and mechanical properties were almost independent of the distribution of hydroxyapatite. The Ti-based glassy alloy/hydroxyapatite composite is expected to exhibit good bone conductivity.
