Abstract
Using a crystallographic elastic–viscoplastic finite element method, the present study investigated two primary factors influencing the measured properties from microcompression tests for anisotropic single crystals: the effect of the sample geometry on the measured elastic response, and the effect of misalignment between the compression platen and the sample on the measured elastic and plastic response.
