Abstract
This paper presents a model that predicts the limiting austenite grain size of microalloyed steel in the presence of growing particles. This model, unlike previous ones, considers the effect of critical particle size on the particle-coarsening kinetics, which affect the limiting grain size. The proposed model was applied to investigate the limiting grain size of TiN-containing steel during heat treatment. Limiting grain sizes predicted by the proposed model correlated well with experimental results.
