Abstract
This study investigated the performance of the Mg–9% Li–1% Zn magnesium alloy (LZ91) under resonance. Results show that LZ91 exhibited excellent damping capacity and thus a lengthy vibration life under constant push force conditions. However, on removal of the damping effect the LZ91 specimens showed an inferior vibration fracture resistance, probably due to its lower strength.
