Abstract
The consolidation process of composites, the specimen preparation process and the push-out test were simulated by the finite element method in this paper. A special subroutine was introduced while modeling the push-out test in order to control the interfacial failure. The results show that the shear strength evaluated from the push-out test is only a reference value. In addition, interfacial frictional shear stresses evaluated from the push-out test are reliable and play a key role in the mechanical performance of composites.
