Abstract
This paper presents a method to evaluate the theoretical set of misorientation angle and axis between variants of hexagonal close-packed (hcp) product transforming from a parent body-centered cubic crystal obeying the Burgers orientation relationship. The distinct covariants of hcp crystal and the probability of random hcp orientations coinciding with the covariant have been arrived at.
