Abstract
Relaxor ferroelectric behavior has been investigated in the (1 − x)Ba(Yb1/2Nb1/2)O3–xPbTiO3 solid solution with compositions of 0.50 < x < 0.68, prepared by solid-state reactions. The dielectric permittivity (ε′) exhibits a diffuse and dispersive maximum. The frequency dependence of the temperature of dielectric maximum follows the Vogel–Fulcher law. A deviation from the Curie–Weiss law was observed below the Burns temperature (TB). With increasing PbTiO3 content in the solid solution, the degree of relaxor behavior decreases gradually, leading towards a normal ferroelectric state.
