Abstract
Analytical grain size distributions are compared with three-dimensional computer simulations employing widely different techniques: phase-field, evolver, vertex and Monte Carlo and with an experimental grain size distribution for pure iron obtained by serial sectioning. Both Rios and Weibull distributions show good agreement with available data.
