Abstract

The dependence of temperature and porosity on the thermal properties of 4mol%Y2O3–stabilized zirconia coatings grown by electron beam-physical vapor deposition was investigated. The porosity of the columnar coatings increased with increasing substrate rotation speed during deposition. The thermal conductivities and thermal diffusivities of samples coated at different substrate rotation speeds decreased with the increase in temperature from room temperature to 1000 °C.
