Abstract
Surface roughening was observed to occur near the α plates isothermally formed in a Ti–Mo alloy. The condensation of vacancies introduced by the imbalance of Ti and Mo diffusion fluxes likely induced the surface roughening, which indicates the association of surface relief with diffusional growth of precipitates.
