Abstract
This paper reports the viability of using multiple compression in a channel die to impart severe plastic deformation (SPD). In the present study Cu was deformed by this technique to equivalent strains of 4 and 8. This resulted in an increased flow stress at 298 K and increased strain rate sensitivity at 298 and 418 K, which matches well with data from other SPD techniques, suggesting similar deformation behavior characteristics.
