Abstract
We show changes of equilibrium shape and artifacts of enhanced particle coalescence and numerical pinning, introduced by boundary thickness variation associated with anisotropy in interfacial energy in phase field simulations. Methods to implement high anisotropy in interfacial energy without altering boundary thickness are presented.
