Abstract
A two-step sintering approach was developed to enhance densification with minimum grain growth for bulk nano-Si3N4 ceramics. Addition of Y2O3 changes the primary phase field, giving rise to β-Si3N4 with nano-scale grain size and near full density without Si2N2O phase.
