Abstract
In this study, individual particle impact tests have been carried out to probe particle impact and deposition behaviors. A rebound phenomenon was observed in which a high fraction of particles rebounded at high impact velocities. The adhesion and rebound energy were calculated to estimate the particle/substrate interaction. The particle deposition behavior was a result of the competition of adhesion and rebound energy during the impact process.
