Abstract
Ternary Ti–Nb–Si alloys consisting of biocompatible alloying elements have been produced to investigate the effect of alloying on microstructure and elastic modulus. It was found that Si has an effective role in suppressing the occurrence of ω-phase and decreasing the elastic modulus in the meta-stable β-phase region.
