Abstract
High quality zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods are synthesized using a seed-mediated sol–gel method. Systematic studies reveal that the use of nanosized ZnO seeds along with critical growth parameters facilitate the formation of ZnO nanorods with high aspect ratio and low oxygen-vacancy defect density, which might find potential applications in nanodevices.
