Abstract

A Ti–6Al–4V particulate (TAp) reinforced magnesium matrix composite was fabricated using a powder metallurgy route. Tensile strength of the composite was markedly higher than that of the unreinforced magnesium alloy, and TAp seemed to be more beneficial for the ductility of magnesium matrix composites than SiC particles.
