Abstract
Cold-rolling of amorphous Al88Y7Fe5 ribbons can induce Al nanocrystal development and growth mainly in shear bands and it can fragment thermally-induced Al nanocrystals into smaller Al nanocrystals to provide for a size distribution control. Dislocations are observed for deformation-induced Al nanocrystals for particle sizes above about 11 nm by 4 nm.
