Abstract
The effect titanium additions (0.01Â wt.%) have on sulphides in low carbon, low manganese (0.3Â wt.% Mn) steels was investigated by transmission electron microscopy. It was found that the titanium additions lead to the formation of a hexagonal iron titanium sulphide. The crystal structure of the iron titanium sulphide was determined by electron diffraction.
