Abstract
A newly developed mechanical surface treatment, high-temperature deep rolling, was performed on the solution-heat-treated aluminium alloy AA6110 (Al-Mg-Si-Cu) for different deep-rolling temperatures up to 250 °C. Near-surface properties, e.g. macroscopic compressive residual stresses, work hardening and hardnesses, are presented. Cyclic deformation behavior and S-N curves of the high-temperature deep-rolled solution-heat-treated AA6110 have been investigated at room temperature and at elevated temperatures up to 250 °C and compared to conventional deep rolling (deep rolling at room temperature) using stress-controlled push-pull fatigue tests.
