Abstract
A cell-type model has been developed to evaluate the yield limit of particulate-reinforced composite material with porous matrix. The effect of loading type, porosity of matrix material and volume content of rigid inclusions has been investigated. The Gurson–Tvergaard–Needleman-type plasticity potential has been suggested for a composite with porous matrix and provides a satisfactory agreement with numerical experimental data over a range of structural parameters.
