Abstract
This study reports on the reactive joining of TiAl intermetallics using Ti–Al–C interlayers. The composition of the interlayer was determined according to the calculation of adiabatic temperature in the reaction system. The effect of the interlayer and joining pressure on reactive joining was studied. The heat generated in the interlayer had a strong influence on the reactive joining.
