Abstract
Ti3Al1−xSixC2 solid solutions exhibited abnormal high coefficients of thermal expansion at temperatures of >940 °C during heating, which was ascribed to the precipitation of Si as Ti5Si3. Ti5Si3 phase usually located at the grain boundaries of the solid solutions.
