Abstract
The two-step-like glass transition observed during continuous heating of Ni–Zr–Nb–Al–Ta metallic glasses originates from the overlap of the endothermic reaction for the glass transition in the supercooled liquid (SL) with the exothermic reaction for the formation of medium range order (MRO) clusters in the SL. MRO clusters also form in the amorphous matrix during cooling from the liquid state under appropriate cooling conditions.
