Abstract
A new morphology of quasi one-dimensional Ni nanostructures was synthesized via Si nanowire template. The reaction was conducted by reflux at 190 °C using NiCl2 · 6H2O as source material. Scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy images confirmed their morphology with lengths up to several micrometers. The magnetic property of the products was measured, the coercivity of which reached 315.2 Oe at room temperature compared with 0.7 Oe for bulk Ni.
