•We have performed a systematic magnetization and magnetic relaxation measurements of InBaCo4O7.•The zfc heating and fc cooling M(T) curves reveal spin-glass-like freezing with a weak FM component below Tf = ∼70 K.•The spin-glass feature is believed to be associated with spin frustration caused by competing magnetic interaction.
We report the spin-glass-like freezing and spin reorientation transition in the geometrically frustrated magnet InBaCo4O7. The glass feature has been illustrated by the long-time magnetic relaxation which can be described by stretch exponential relaxation formula, M = M0 + M1exp[−(t/τ)1−n]. The memory effect observed in this compound serves as another evidence of spin glass-like freezing at low temperature. The spin-glass-like dynamic behaviour is believed be associated with the geometrical frustration.
