Abstract
⺠The prepared carbons possess tunable mesopore size and surface chemical properties. ⺠Ion diffusion in the carbon channels is determined to the surface chemical property. ⺠The capacitance retention ratio is determined to the surface chemical property. ⺠The prepared carbons present visible pseudo-capacitance in hydrophilic EMImBF4. ⺠No visible pseudo-capacitive behavior was observed in hydrophobic EMImTSFI.
