Abstract
Uniform Fe0.985S crystals with novel structures can be fabricated by tuning the volume ratio of water and ethanol (or glycerol). After calcination at 500 °C, the porous α-Fe2O3 architectures can be produced from as-prepared Fe0.985S samples as an efficient precursor. Furthermore, the porous α-Fe2O3 architectures could maintain the main morphologies of the Fe0.985S precursors. Compared with the α-Fe2O3 powder, the porous α-Fe2O3 architectures show high photocatalytic performance for methyl orange.
