Abstract
High quality Na-doped K2Al2B2O7 (KABO) crystals were grown in the NaF + B2O3 flux system by a top seeded solution growth (TSSG) method. The amount of Na+ in the doped KABO crystals was measured by inductive-coupled plasma (ICP). There were tiny differences in the power diffraction patterns of the as-grown (K1−xNax)2Al2B2O7 crystals. The transmittance of (K1−xNax)2Al2B2O7 crystals slices was up to 90% in the range of 300–800 nm. The intensities of power SHG for the as-grown (K1−xNax)2Al2B2O7 crystals were about 1–1.5 times than that of KDP.
