Abstract
Composite (x)CoFe2O4–(1−x)BaTiO3 thick films were prepared on alumina substrate by electrophoretic deposition technique using CoFe2O4 and BaTiO3 nanopowders. X-ray diffraction indicated that the films consisted of both spinel CoFe2O4 and perovskite BaTiO3 phase. No intermediate phase is detected in the films. Leakage current density proved the enhancement of film insulativity with increasing BaTiO3 concentration. Ferroelectric properties of the composite films are also found to improve with increasing BaTiO3 concentration. At room temperature, the composite thick films exhibited good ferromagnetic and ferroelectric properties.
