Abstract
Structural studies on hydrogen-bonded assemblies of alkylsulphate salts of 2-[bis(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethylphenyl)methyl]pyridine (1) and 4-[bis(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethylphenyl)methyl]pyridine (2) are described. It is observed that the methyl/ethylsulphate anions are held in the bis-phenol assemblies through O–H⋯O and N–H⋯O interactions. The crystal structure of dihydrogen phosphate salt of 2-[bis(4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethylphenyl)methyl]pyridine (1) is reported. In the self-assembly of this salt, dihydrogen phosphate anion shows chain like structure through hydrogen bonding.
